Mommy moments
Hello, friends and followers!! What a beautiful, cool morning! I just love the cold weather!! This will probably be a short post, as I have tons to do today. This morning, like always, I got up first, found Paige some clothes for the day, and got her some breakfast. After hair brushing and back pack packing, she was ready for school!!! First grade is so much fun!! Daddy is off today, so he took her to school. This is where the title of this post comes in. As I was standing on my front porch waving them off, I got a little sad, and my eyes did tear up a bit. Hence the title "Mommy moments" In that moment, I caught a glimpse of the future. I did not see my little girl getting a ride to school with daddy, instead, what I saw was Paige all grown up, driving off for her first day of college...I will never be one to rush the growing process. If it were up to me they would stay babies in diapers forever, but it's not up to me. Therefore, I have to, with the best of my abilities, do the job God gave me of raising happy, healthy children and above all else teach the Word by example. Only then can I be assured that I have done my job! OK, this may not make sense to anyone but me, but that is what was on my mind!!! Peace, Love and Twilight!!! Only 5 more days 'till the NEW MOON premier!!!!

My terribly neglected blog
I realized, while driving in my car today, that I have greatly neglected my blog. The twins finally went down for a nap, so mommy has down time too!! There is nothing like chasing a matching pair of toddles around all day!! They have been soooo good! We even made a trip to the library, where mommy, like always, checked out too many books, but hey, that's what they're there for, right? I am taking bets on how many I can read before I take Paige for the after school program on Thursday. I would have normally waited until then, but the twins and I needed to get away for a while, even if that while was just an hour! I thank God every day for blessing me with such a wonderful, beautiful family, and mostly for well behaved kids! He keeps His blessings flowing every day! Well, I am signing off for now, to go read one of those books...More to come!!!!!!!

Wow!! It's been forever...
It has been so long since I have blogged on here, and the last one came about as a venting session! I have much more upbeat things to say today!! Well, the school year is finally over. Today is the last full day of school for the Needville ISD!.. The kids will be getting out at 1 tomorrow and Friday. God really blessed Paige and my family with Mrs. Baker. We will never forget her. After struggling through the first part of school, I was beginning to doubt myself for sending Paige to school so early. I do know that a lot of kids go to school at age 5, but at orientation, we were told that although some are quite ready, most do better at age 6. Well, Mrs. Baker continued to work with us and never gave up, nor did she allow Paige to give up, and we have finished the school year with flying colors. We will continue to work with Paige at home to improve on her math skills, she is still at a k 4 level, but otherwise she has made a 110% improvement. The twins have begun walking, and I have learned that no matter what I do or how high stuff goes, no house will ever be 100% baby proof and they will still get their hands on what ever it was that they wanted in the first place. Their vocabulary is growing, but they still prefer to speak their own language and expect everyone else to understand it too. One of my oldest and best friends recently gave birth to her second little boy. I am so happy for them. Marissa and Sean are awesome parents and you can just see God's love radiating from them and their family. July 8 and 9 are the due dates for babies Wesley Zakem and Jude Raynor! I can't wait to see them both. Cole and Sara, Wesley's mommy and daddy, and Christine and Dustin, baby Jude's mommy and daddy, are all going to ROCK as parents!!! They have all been so great with my kids, and I am so happy that God has blessed them with their own little gifts!! I can't wait to hold those little boys in my arms and show them how much God and aunt Donna love them!!! Well, it's 10:30, so I guess I better start thinking about what I am going to feed these little girls for lunch. They like to eat early. Until next time....

A Few Rants About People Who Think They Know it All
I try not to be negative in my blog posts, but some people have really been getting on my nerves lately. Well, really one in particular. Maybe two. I have been praying for guidance as how to handle the situations and I am believing for an answer as how to handle the negativity that Satan seems to be throwing my way. In the meantime, I think that it may make me feel a bit better to vent. By the way, didn't your mom, dad, or whomever raised You teach you that "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?" Mine sure did!!
Here are some responses to things that I let roll off my back. I did a great job holding my tongue. For now I just need to let it out!!
1. My child was in Texas Children's Hospital for 2 weeks fighting for her life. She almost died!!!! Please do not come to me the day we get home and tell me how miserable you have been because you had the sniffles and you couldn't get out of work. I truely am sorry that you feel bad, but I can not come to your pitty party when I am having a fard enough time trying not to throw my own.
2. My house is not dirty, it is lived in. I have twins and I refuse to keep my house as if it was a museum. The kids are allowed to touch everything that is within arms reach or else it wouldn't be down there. I refuse to go behind my children and pick up and put away each toy that they get out, just because they moved on to something else for 5 minutes. They are babies. They have no attention span. They will probably end up back where they started to begin with. Keep your snide comments to yourself, and if you do feel so strongly about messes, go clean your own kids room.
3. All babies need naps. When you come to MY house and I tell you that I just put the twins down for a nap, DO NOT interpret that as the twins are being temporarily corralled in their crib. It's ok to go mess with them. It is most definately NOT ok. Then please do not come tell me that they are up and climbing. I alreadly know that my children are climbers. I have taken all necessary precaution to prevent falls. Their nap/bedtime routine is this...I put them in the bed, I leave the room, they cry for like 2 minutes, they settle down and eventually go to sleep. Of course if you go in there and talk to them they are going to get up and try to find ways to get out. You interrupted the routine, now we basically have to start over.
4. Do not come to my house and let the first words out of your mouth be what's for supper. That is increadibly rude and unappreciated. Also, do not bring your friends over to my house and ask the same question and then comment to yourselves that Jon is the one working and I should have the house clean and dinner sitting hot on the table. Come stand in my place and let me see how much you actually do end up getting done!
5. Don not make comments about my job or lack there of. I do have a job. Full time, thank you very much. The difference between my job and yours though is this. I don't get a day off, I am on call around the clock, there is no Holidays or sick leave, I don't get to take a day off. I may not bring home a paycheck at the end of the week, but my rewards are more valuable to me than any amount of money. You think you can do it? Go right ahead...I have already had several people tell me that they wouldn't trade jobs with me for all the money in the world. I love my job!!!! How aabout you?
That's all for now. I do feel better now. I will keep praying for strength and guidance though, so please believe with me!!!

cool website I found
One of the moms at one of the play groups that the twins attend told me about this awesome website. I checked it out and I love it!!! So far I have gotten a humongous box of baby clothes along with a yard size bag. All fit the twins and for the most part are stain free and look brand new. I answered and add for baby and toddler toys, because as we all know, there are always plenty of both running and crawling around my house. From there I received a complete set of Lincoln logs, to build a rail road and train station, some wooden trains to pull along and a spider man tent, just to name a few. The best thing of all is I did not pay so much as a penny for anything!! I am in the process of cleaning out closets and finding things to post on there to "Freecycle" on there as well. Oh, I guess I forgot, the website is www.freecycle.org. It is part of yahoo groups, but there are members everywhere!!!! I joined the groups for Sugar Land, Richmond/Rosenberg, and Wharton Counties as those are the closest to me. I know there is one near you, so go check it out. Like they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure!!! Happy freebie swapping!!

Wow...
...it's been a while since my last post. The twins are growing and learning everyday, all the while teaching me new things too. I have a drawer full of snacks for Paige's lunch and I stash our candy in there as well. Candy is a treat in my house so the kids don't get it too often and the twins being only 10 months, hardly get any at all. They do love the Hershey's kisses though! Well, our good friends Missy and Brandon gave Paige what seems to be an infinite supply of her favorite candy, Fun Dip. You know the flavored sugar with a sugar stick to dip in it to eat. Well, anyway, some how the drawer got left open and the twins found a package of fun dip. Anyone with children can tell you that a baby has the power to tear any kind of paper from what seems like birth. Well, if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video must be worth a million. Enjoy. Oh, Pressley is the one in the pink, which leaves Peyton to be the one wearing white. Can you tell which one is the more adventurous?

Keep out of reach of Pressley
Pressley is proving to be my most adventurous child. She will find anything that she is not supposed to have and taste it before anything else. The following came from her sister's art kit that Santa left for her.
So much for uneventful...
In my first post of the new year, I believe that I stated that I was believing for a relatively uneventful year. I think that I will have to take that back. It is events like the following that make my days bright. BTW>>>the twins LOVE hershey's kisses!!!

Twilight...
...ended with enough of a cliff hanger to make me want to go out and get the next book. I know that I will be like number one million in line to check it out from the library, so it's off to B&N for Starbucks and the next book! Until we meet again...

Happy 2009
Here it is! My first post of 2009. I am believing for much health and happiness and a closer walk with God in 2009. Both twins stayed up to ring in the new year with the family. We thought they would never go to sleep. Cole and Sara hosted an excellent party. The food was splendid and the fireworks beautiful. We got to see our nephew, Sgt. Jason Todd for the first time in probably over a year. No, I take that back, he did get a very short visit in May. That was when the twins were supposed to be born, but instead decided to come in early in March. 2008 was a tumultuous year. I am hoping that 2009 will be a bit less eventful, maybe not less, but definitely more positive events. Cole and Sara and Christine and Dustin will all be great parents when their miracles arrive in July! I can't wait to see the two newest members of the family! Well I guess that's it for now. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
p.s. "Twilight" is turning out to be a great read. I am so glad I didn't ruin it by watching the movie first!
